  • measuring cups and spoons
  • baking tray
  • parchment paper
  • oven

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Halal-certified ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix until just combined using your hands or a spoon. Avoid overmixing to keep the meatballs tender.
  • With wet hands, shape the mixture into meatballs about 1 to 1½ inches in diameter.
  • Arrange the meatballs on a parchment-lined baking tray, leaving space between each one.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and lightly browned.
  • Let the meatballs cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and enjoy with pasta, salad, or in a sandwich.

Notes

Store leftover meatballs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To freeze, place them in a single layer on a baking tray for 1 hour before transferring to a freezer-safe bag or container for up to 3 months. Reheat in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 10-15 minutes to maintain their crisp exterior.
